Claustrophobic Combat Spectacular

A rather decent amount of mapping progress has been made. I only need to make the last two rather large maps for Omnia's introduction/demo. It will only take a couple of days to make the second-to-last demo map, but the final one will take longer. Both of them are going to be fun to work on, since I already know what they're going to be and the most time-consuming part for either is going to be the tileset edits. But I'm looking forward to starting working on the second-to-last one this afternoon.

Once both of them are finished, I know development is going to slow down for a little while, since I will need to start incorporating the story, then do the database work (which is going to be items, weapons, armor, enemies, skills/spells and class balancing.) I'm planning on waiting until I've got at least the flavor text (and there will be several hundred words worth of that in the intro/demo) written before I start to look for music and sound effects.

Speaking of mechanics and features, I'm not going to overwhelm my game with anything like ninety-eight thousand random unnecessary systems and the like, because feature creep does not help anything and just bloats everything. However, I have incorporated a few little things in the introduction so.

Omnia does have the standard RPG Maker keyboard controls and I am not going to change them. I've also added:

~ Mouse controls

~ A quest log

~ Jumping (You can/will need to jump in certain areas)

~ Sound options in the menu

~ One puzzle (two, if you tilt your head and squint.)

There will be additional things added to the extended demo (yes,I am planning on having a demo, extended demo and then the final release of the full game.)

I know right off the top of my head that Omnia will include mini-games, more puzzles and a couple of crafting systems. I am also going to be changing the combat system. Naturally, I am not listing everything that will be added or changed, because revealing everything too soon is boring. But that's a small handful of things to look forward to.
